Golf Memories of 2007

There has been so many golf days that I enjoyed but probably the best one would have to be the day that me and my younger brother, Kevin teamed up in the UK vs UL golf scramble this past September. We had a total of 5 UK players and 4 UL players who were all deaf.  We had 5 deaf from our church group play..

Below is a picture of me and my younger deaf bro…

Aside from the UK vs UL golf scramble, I also am involved in a monthly golf tournaments for the Kentucky Deaf Golfers Association which I have been a member of for 5 years now. We play golf at selected cities such as Lexington, Danville, Elizabethtown, Northern Kentucky, Richmond, Versailes, Frankfort, and Louisville. We average about 8 to 12 golfers a month depending on the location. A few of our church members are involved in taht monthly for fellowship and fun times.

This past summer in June, I had the opportunity to play in a 3 day golf tournament at Knoxville, Tennessee for the Southeastern Deaf Golfers Association. I went down with a few other guys in our Kentucky Deaf Golfers Association to represent. I ended up 2nd place in the 3rd flight and 1st place in the Handicap division. It was a great experience and I’m looking forward to next year in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina…

And this past October, actually not too long ago, me and 3 other guys played in a golf marathon. We was playing to help a local ministry, DeafTeen Quest, raise money for their mission trip to Mexico. We had to attempt to play 50 holes or more in order for the ministry to get their pledges of donations. We ended up playing 54 holes altogether. It was a fun day and am looking forward to next year as well. The highlight of that day is that on a golf course, during our play in daylight, we saw a fox come out to us on the green. One of our players attempted to pet it..below are some pictures of that event…
